Finish final exams strong with these tips

Finals week is approaching very fast. Are you ready?

This time a year can be considered one of the most stressful times in a college student’s life. Finals week happens twice a year, and every time it comes around students’ stress levels can go up.

Most of us are drowning in tests, papers, and presentations that we knew about for the past 14 weeks. Those assignments rarely seem important until our teacher reminds us about them a week before they are due.

“This is my first ever finals week and it is as tough as people say they are,” said freshman Sean Harris.

Well, for all of you procrastinators out there, here are a few tips and helpful facts about finals week at Fisher that might just get you through!


  • First of all, an all-nighter will not help you in the long run. Try to get at least seven hours of sleep each night, so you are ready for each exam physically and mentally.

  • It is crucial for you to have good time management so there will be no need to pull an all-nighter. DO NOT LEAVE WORK or STUDYING FOR THE NIGHT BEFORE, plan accordingly.

  • Make a to do list, and check off things one by one as you get it done.

  • Don’t forget to breathe! Everything will get done, but not all at once. Take baby steps.

This week the Lavery Library is accommodating students with special hours.

(Sun) Dec. 11th: 8:45 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.

(Mon-Thurs) Dec. 12-15th:  7:45 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.

(Fri) Dec. 16th: 7:45 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

(Sat) Dec. 17th: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Grab a snack in between studying at Fishbowl or Cardinal every day of the week until midnight.
