Field Hockey Blanks New Paltz for 9th Straight

The Cardinals continue to keep up with their winning ways, defeating New Paltz 3-0. This nine game winning streak is only half of the program’s longest, setting a new mark with 18 consecutive wins in 2016.

Lindsay Scott, Emily Markarian, and Bre Socker were the catalysts, scoring an unassisted goal each. Ashley Maynard played in goal the entire game, making 10 saves in the shutout victory. Fisher returns to the home playing field when they take on the University of Rochester on Wednesday, October 4.

Men’s Golf Finishes 2nd in Mason-Dixon Invite

After a 7th place start during the first 18 holes of the event, the Cardinals ended with the lowest team score of the day for the closing round. This is the fourth event Fisher has played in this season, and is their best team finish to this point.

Fisher saw top 10 finishes with Andrew Card coming in tied at 7th with a +7 finish, and Nicholas Calabrese coming in ninth place with his +3 mark. The Cardinals will get back on the course on October 7 at the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Invite in Atlanta, GA.

Women’s Tennis Takes Charge Against Alfred

Fisher took their conference matchup with Alfred 7-2 on September 30. Women’s tennis continues to shine this season, reaching a 7-1 overall record and 4-1 standing in conference play.

The Cardinal’s success in doubles sets was the key to victory, sweeping all doubles rounds for the match. Kaili Saffran, Sarah Sorrentino, Cassidy Bell and Amanda Pendergast all contributed to the doubles victories and won their singles matchups as well. Fisher’s next test is against rival Nazareth, who holds a 6-0 record and is 5-0 in Empire 8 conference games.
