Fisher’s Class of 2022 was formally welcomed to campus on Tuesday Sept. 6 in the annual fall matriculation ceremony.
The incoming class, at slightly larger than 600 students, is the third largest in the school’s history. This is the first time the college has enrolled classes of more than 600 first year students two years in a row.
The ceremony consisted of the students being met by upperclass students, faculty, staff and administrators on their way in to the Ralph Wilson Jr. Athletic Center, where they each signed a copy of the Fisher Creed. Student leaders read the principles of the creed aloud after they were finished.
Formal welcomes then were made by Provost Dr. Kevin Railey, college President Dr. Gerard Rooney, and Student Government Association President Erin Turpin. The event took place at 11:30 a.m. after individual departmental orientations but before classes started at 1:40 p.m.
