The Saint John Fisher Cardinals played two games this week in which they went 1-1, including another win in the Empire 8.  

On Tuesday, Sept. 25, the Cardinals lost 3-1 to Union College in a non-conference matchup at College Park Field. Antonio Robles knotted the only goal for Fisher while goalkeeper Justin Miles made five saves in 90 minutes of action.

On Saturday Sept. 30, Fisher earned its second win on the season and also in the conference, defeating The Sage Colleges 1-0  at Growney Stadium. Brian Norman scored the only goal of the game in the 45th minute, and Justin Miles earned a shutout for the Cardinals. Fisher is now 2-7-1 overall (2-1 in the Empire 8).

Cross Country

The Cardinals ran their way to eighth place out of 23 teams at the Mike Woods Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 30 in Geneseo, New York. Bernard Daoust finished in 30th place, but was the first Cardinal to finish, clocking in a 27:07. Out of all the freshman participants, Andrew Ford placed first, and was the second Cardinal to finish, earning his season best time of 27:29.


Fisher came in third place in their season debut, participating in the “Challenge on the Canal”, hosted by Hobart and Williams Colleges. The Cardinals finished only seven seconds behind the winner (Buffalo) with a time of 17:01.0.  Fisher’s next meet will be The Head of the Genesee on Saturday, Oct 8. in Rochester.
