Field Hockey

The St. John Fisher Cardinals Field Hockey team earned another victory, as they visited Houghton 6-1, at Burke Field. The Cardinals’ record improved to 9-3 and 3-0 in the conference this year.

Junior Bre Socker made a large contribution with a career high four goals.

Fisher will look to keep the momentum going, as they host the College of Brockport at 7p.m.

Men’s cross country

The St. John Fisher Men’s Cross Country team were invited to the 28th Annual Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon. They clinched 11th place, while facing top ten teams in the Atlantic Region.

Bernard Daoust led the Cardinal team, placing 40th overall and finishing the 8000 meter race with a time of 26:42:3.

The team will compete again next Saturday, October 19 in the ESF Mighty Oak Invite.

Women’s cross country

The St John Fisher Women’s Cross Country Team finished 12th, at the Annual Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Riley Corey was the leader for the Cards, finishing up 16th place overall 23:40.1 during the 600 meter race.

The team will head to the ESF Mighty Oak Invite, on Saturday October 19.

Men’s golf

The St John Fisher College men’s golf team placed 2nd overall at the second round of the Empire 8 Fall Championship. The Cardshad a combined score of 632 at the par-72, at the Oaks Golf club

Collin McGaugh was the top performer for the Cards as he won the fall championship outright, scoring 6+ over.

The Cardinals will wrap up their fall season and will look forward to continuing their championship exhibition in the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championship in May.

Women’s golf

The St. John Fisher Women’s Golf team had three top 10 finishers at the Nazareth College Invitational, as the wrapped up their fall schedule.

Emily Schultz took second place and finished with a score of 173 (+29), leaving her five strokes short the first place.

The Cards will return this spring for Jekyll Island Invitational in Georgia, during March.

Men’s soccer

The St. John Fisher College Men’s soccer team visited Sage College for a conference battle and came out victorious by a score of 1-0 . The game would come down to one goal, as forward Ben Loomingham scored in the 59th minute.

The Cardinals improved to 3-8-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the Empire 8 with this road win.

Fisher will continue on Saturday, Oct, 19th when they host Nazareth College at Growney Stadium.

Women’s soccer

The St. John Fisher College Women’s soccer team hosted Fredonia for their last non-conference game at Growney Stadium. It was a 2-0 win for the Cards, moving them to an overall record of 5-6-2.

Carli Kovarik made a big contribution scoring all of Fisher’s goals, netting two on three shots.

The team will back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19 as they host Utica College in a conference matchup.

Women’s tennis

The St. John Fisher College Women’s tennis team clinched the Empire 8 Regular Season Championship for the first time in program history. The Cards defeated the Sage Colleges, 8-1.

Kaili Saffran led the team in all six flights, dominating the first singles with victories of, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, and 6-2.

The Cards will wait for who they will face off against, Houghton or Alfred, for the Empire 8 Championship on Friday at Mendon Racquet and Pool Club.
