Field Hockey

The St. John Fisher College Field Hockey Team claimed an overtime victory over Nazareth 7-0, on Senior Night.  Bre Socker contributed with two goals, while senior Reghan Amoroso  also contributed with a goal herself.

The team set a new best with a total of 10 home wins on the season, with a record of 15-4 overall and 7-0 in the conference. 

They will face Nazareth again in the Empire 8 Semifinals at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, at Growney Stadium.

Men’s cross country

The St John Fisher Mens Cross Country Team finished 4th in Empire 8 Championship.

Two competitors finished in the top ten in the 8000 meter race. Andrew Ford finished in third with a time of 26:40.0 and Bernard Daoust came in ninth at 27:28.9.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Cardinals will travel to Canton for the NCAA Regional Championship.

Women’s cross country

The St. John Fisher Cardinal Women’s Cross Country Team completed their 2019 conference season, finishing in second place on Saturday.

The Cards had three competitors finish in the top 10 during the 6,000 meter race. 

Freshman, Riley Corey lead the team, while Seniors, Taylor Kennard and Gabriella Dunkelberg, followed and finished 7th and 8th.

The Cardinals will travel to Canton for the NCAA Regional Championship on Saturday, November 16th.

Women’s Volleyball

The St. John Fisher College Women’s Volleyball Team traveled to Brockport and lost consecutive matches to wrap up their fall season with an overall record of 21-10.

In the first match, Clarkson was able to hold the Cards off winning the match 3-0.

In the second match, Brockport was able to shut down the Card’s offense, as well shutting them out in their victory of 3-0.

The Cardinals will now prep for the Empire 8 Championship next week, with their No. 1 seed ranking.

Men’s soccer

The St John Fisher Cardinals’ Men’s Soccer Team hosted the Alfred University Sabres on Senior Night, resulting in a season ending loss. The Cards wrapped up the season with a 3-9-3 overall record, and a 1-2-3 record in the Empire 8.

Alfred University’s Justin Eaton scored on a set piece following a handball on the Cardinals, resulting in the Sabres’ victory. 

The Sabres’ victory clinched them a berth into the conference tournament and improved to 7-11 overall.

Women’s soccer

The St. John Fisher Cardinals Women’s Soccer Team defeated Nazereth College and clinched the top overall seed in the Empire 8 Championship. 

Carli Kovarik contributed with a goal, and Megan Letta had the game winning goal for the Cards.

The Cardinals will face off against Utica College on November 4th in the first round of the Empire 8 Championship.
