Course Description

Students will study a topic related to contemporary media practice and media literacy in relation to current events. Students will practice academic writing and revision while engaging with scholarly research as well as newspapers, social media postings, films, and other media texts.  In fall 2019, the topic will be Climate Change and the Media.  Students will analyze a range of media (e.g., documentary film, social media, journalism) in relation to how each communicates climate change.

COMM 205 fulls half of the Learning Community requirement within the  college core.
