OIT Alert: Corrected Date – Blackboard Upgrade Announcement

Dear Campus Community, Please be aware that Blackboard will be upgraded over the holiday break and you will need to be logged out by 11:45pm on December 30th. The system will unavailable from 11:45pm December 30th until January 2nd at 5pm. Please be aware that you will not be able to log in to Blackboard during this timeframe. We will notify campus when the upgrade is complete and you can again access the system. Please review the attached What’s New in Blackboard document for a listing of new features and current feature enhancements available through Blackboard after the upgrade. Also attached is the Pre-Semester Prep document containing instructions on copying courses and making them available to students. Additional training sessions on Blackboard will be offered in early January for faculty preparing their spring courses. Please view the list of upcoming training sessions below and register now to reserve a seat. Blackboard Basics Workshop This session will cover the foundational tools within Blackboard, including how to access the tool, navigating your course environment, making courses available, managing users, creating content and assignments and the basics of the grade center. Blackboard Advanced Workshop This session will cover more advanced features available within Blackboard, including discussion boards, blogs, wikis, journals, rubrics, tests and other integrations set up in the Blackboard environment.
