OIT Announcement – WiFi upgrade on campus

Dear Campus Community, We are happy to announce that over this summer OIT is upgrading the wireless network across all of campus. We have the new wireless deployed into 6 residence halls and will be deploying into Campus Center, Wilson Formal, Basil and SLC this week in support of the Buffalo Bills summer camp. From that point, we will continue to deploy across the remainder of campus. During this process you will see new wireless networks becoming available to connect to. There will be a transition time when some areas will have the current WiFi while the new one is getting rolled out. Existing New SJFC – Preferred network and uses SJFC network credentials to connect. SJFC-WiFi – This is the new preferred network and continues to use SJFC network credentials to connect. SJFC_Guest – For use by visitors on campus that do not have network credentials. This has Internet Access only. SJFC-Guest – New network for use by visitors on campus that do not have network credentials. This has Internet Access only. Individual Residence Halls (i.e. Haffey-ResNet) Will now use SJFC-WiFi. Students in Res Halls will connect once no matter where on Campus they are. During this process if you have any questions or concerns please contact the OIT Service Desk at 585-385-8016 or OITServiceDesk@sjfc.edu<mailto:OITServiceDesk@sjfc.edu> Thank you, The Office of Information Technology
