Outpatient Clinics – Rochester, New York: Guide to Behavioral Health Services

Outpatient: Outpatient services are resources that can be accessed by anyone at any time. Outpatient services include a variety of treatment settings, and treatment will be tailored to the individual’s needs.

Clinics: Clinics may serve adults and children, and provide an array of outpatient services. Services may include assessment, crisis intervention, medication management, psychotherapy and integrated care treatment tailored to the individual’s needs.

Partial Hospitalization: Partial hospitalization offers much of what is provided in inpatient care, in an outpatient setting. The client can expect to participate for a half day or a full day. The goal of this type of care is to prevent hospitalization and/or shorten the length of an inpatient stay. Services will focus on acute, short-term care, and rely on both group and individual therapy.

Personal Recovery Oriented Services (PROS): PROS programs provide integrated and comprehensive outpatient services including treatment, support, rehabilitation services. To be eligible for PROS an individual must be 18 or older, have a mental illness diagnosis and have a disability due to said mental illness.
